Longhorn

Scope

Longhorn is the distributed block storage layer used by the TazLab cluster.

Current Synthesis

Longhorn provides persistent storage for stateful workloads in the cluster, including database and dashboard services. It sits on top of Talos and interacts with Proxmox-backed nodes through storage and mount requirements.

Why It Matters

It is the persistent storage backbone for stateful cluster services.

Key Characteristics

  • CSI-based distributed block storage
  • replica-aware and node-aware
  • requires iSCSI and mount-related support on Talos
  • paired with Kubernetes PVC/PV patterns
